HP: Hogwarts - Third Floor

Created as a fanfiction and role play reference tool.

As accurate to the books as possible, and not movie relevant at all, by the fact that the movie castle would have ended up far too big for so few students. Created on a basic plan (the original school) that builds up from the west wing, with the north wing being a later edition, and the east wing coming later, as the castle needed to be larger.

The greenhouses are to the east, as is the Quidditch pitch, and further on, Hogsmeade. The train station is to the south, across the lake. The forest, the Whomping Willow and Hagrid's hut are south easterly, with the forest circling to the north and to the west.

Annotations on the third floor

The Hospital Wing:

The Hospital Wing changes floors each year. On odd years it is on the third floor. On evens it can be found on the first.

Trophy Room:

This is a room full of trophies and awards, including the Quidditch cup won by James’ team, and the Special Awards to the School won by Riddle et al. Harry was meant to meet Draco in this room in first year. This is where the list of head boys and head girls is.

Notes

A: The forbidden room on the third floor

B: The room after the door in which the three headed dog Fluffy resided, though how he squeezed in, nobody knows. There is a trapdoor in the center of this room leading to the ‘hilosophers/Sorcerer’s Stone challenge’, which may possibly have been rooms used for an ‘exam’, where ‘exam’ reads ‘gauntlet’, in times when exams didn’t exist.
